Innovation in healthcare continues to be a driving force in the quest to balance cost containment and health care quality.

Healthcare innovation can be defined as the introduction of a new concept, idea, service, process, or product aimed at improving treatment, diagnosis, education, outreach, prevention and research, and with the long term goals of improving quality, safety, outcomes, efficiency and costs.

Learn how physicians and related health care professionals successfully lead innovation and change in rapidly changing, highly regulated environments such as healthcare delivery, biotech, and biopharma. Examples from recent interviews and case studies with physician innovators will be shared, with implications for other experts leading organizational change discussed, with an emphasis on OD consultants.

You will learn:

  • Why the self-concept required to be a successful physician is a barrier to success as a leader of innovation and change.
  • A model for understanding effective physican leadership.
  • 3 specific strategies you can use to help physicians shift their mind-set and behaviors and become successful leaders.
